This is a guidence document that relates to meeting technical requirements for waterproofing basements and other structures, near to or below ground. The documentation details various aspects that have to be considered when designing waterproofing systems. For example, ground conditions, construction of the project, end use of structure and the various methods of waterproofing. NHBC chapter 5.4 also recommends that the waterproofing system should be designed by someone who is CSSW qualified (Certified Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing).

The range of products used for the water proofing of existing basements are from the country’s top suppliers of sheet and bonded systems from Fosroc, Visqueen, Juta and Delta. The installation of cavity drain membranes systems with sumps and pumps from suppliers such as Delta, John Newton and Wykamol.

Cement renders and waterproofing materials from Sika. We are qualified to design waterproofing for structures in accordance with NHBC Premier Guarantees and LABC required guidelines.

Property Care Association (PCA)

As members of the PCA must demonstrate an understanding of this standard and the Association code of practice for underground waterproofing. The PCA also requires that surveyors providing guidance on waterproofing must demonstrate their competence by gaining the Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW) qualification.

PRS are Waterproofing Design member on the Property Care Association Register of Waterproofing Design Specialists.
